David Alvarez brings a wealth of financial experience to the company he co-founded. As the former President and Vice-Chairman of Providian Financial, one of the largest credit card issuers worldwide, he was instrumental in its rapid growth between 1990 and 2001. Providian Financial was sold to Washington Mutual for $6.45 Billion. At Providian, During his eight years of profit and loss responsibility, Mr. Alvarez delivered greater than 25% compound annual growth rate in profits, culminating in more than $2 Billion pre-tax profits in 2000. During his tenure, he managed over 12,000 employees in twelve locations across six states. Mr. Alvarez holds both BA and MA degrees from Stanford University.
Christopher Zaino is a former Vice President at Providian Financial and has over a decade of experience in consumer financial services. At Providian, Mr. Zaino led the company’s Product Development Test Center which launched numerous products, as well as Providian’s e-commerce business in 2000. Mr. Zaino also led, grew, and restructured various operational, project management, and business relationship departments, supporting and enabling the company’s expansive growth. Mr. Zaino brings expertise in building products, processes, capabilities, and organizations. Mr. Zaino holds both BS and MA degrees from Stanford University.
Craig McDonald has more than 15 years of senior management experience leading sales, marketing and services functions for technology companies on a global basis. Prior to joining Nexxo Financial Craig was Chief Operating Officer for Valista, a global leader in digital content management software for telecom operators. Prior to that, he held senior management positions with iPIN, a leader in Internet and mobile payments software, and in the healthcare industry where he managed European operations for Healthmark Group. Craig began his career with IBM and holds a BS degree from Michigan State University.
Mitch brings over 25 years of advanced system and network design and software craftsmanship to Nexxo. A technology ‘early adopter’ continuously evaluating new software/hardware/network technology and techniques. Previous experience includes consulting to AutoDesk, Netscape, IBM, Go/Eo/Slate, Ask Jeeves, Network Appliance, and Compaq. California Polytechnic State University 1987, San Luis Obispo – B. S. Adriana Eiriz is an 18 year veteran of the US Hispanic market, and was the first Latin American female to be elected to the Board of Directors of the Electronic Retailing Association (ERA). Her leadership at Lexicon Marketing, was instrumental in the launch of several new products leading to the rapid growth of the company. Ms. Eiriz’ expertise lead her to successfully spearhead other key Hispanic DR and retail initiatives at Latin Links, Inc. positioning at retail the first US Hispanic initiative for Buena Vista Games (BVG), part of The Walt Disney Company, launching Spanish children’s software titles for USA, Mexico and Puerto Rico. At Vivar Advertising, as Managing Director she was responsible for all of the agency’s strategic initiatives and US Hispanic-specific communication strategies with best-practice direct response principles. Former Chair of ERAs U.S. Hispanic Council and Education Committee. Ms. Eiriz is also an active member of the CMO Council’s Corporate Leadership Committee and Latin American Advisory Board.
Freddie Seba has held a variety of corporate and entrepreneurial positions, during which his multilingual and multicultural background have served him well. Mr. Seba has over 20 years business experience working with Latin American and Mexican nationals in the US and abroad. Mr. Seba managed a $400 million US-based operation focused in Latin America and Mexico. Mr. Seba’s work at large multinationals includes Ingram Micro Inc. and Epson America Inc.; his startup experience includes Print-Nation and Pontiva. Mr. Seba has lectured at Stanford University’s Continuing Studies, worked as business plan judge at the Yale School of Management-National Business Plan Competition. He has been a guest speaker at the University of San Francisco, Stanford’s Latin American Entrepreneurship Society, Federation of Latin American Banks (Felaban) and Intelecard Expo. Mr. Seba is currently Board of Director of HispanicNet, a Silicon Valley based non profit organization. Mr. Seba holds a BA from the Universidad Santa Maria, an MBA from Yale University and a MA in International Policy Studies from Stanford University.
Claudia Richter has more than 15 years of experience as a Financial Services executive defining and delivering innovative solutions to acquire, grow, and retain customers. Deep expertise in the areas of payments, cross channel experience, and customer segmentation. Prior to joining Nexxo Financial, Claudia was Senior Business Leader of Strategy for Visa, Inc. Prior to that, she held the Senior Manager position for Accenture, LLP, a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company. Claudia’s key consulting clients included Wells Fargo, American Express, Visa, Charles Schwab, and E*Trade. Claudia received a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Engineering Operations Research from Cornell University.
Nick Colburn has over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry. Most recently, he managed finance for PayPal’s international and operations business segments. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President at Providian Financial, where he held a variety of roles, including acting as the first CFO for the United Kingdom business, managing the company’s financial planning and analysis function, and running investor relations. He has also worked as a finance and economics consultant at Cornerstone Research and did rural development work in India . Mr. Colburn holds BS, MS and MBA degrees, all from Stanford University.
Michael Jack brings more than 20 years of experience in the Financial Services industry leading technology and operations teams through large change programs. Prior to joining Nexxo, Mr. Jack was at Fireman’s Fund Insurance where he held a number of roles including leading the Application Development and Maintenance organization and was a program lead over cross-functional teams implementing a number of multi-year, multi-million dollar technology implementations. Prior to that, he led two entrepreneurial ventures helping to turn-around and grow those businesses. Mr. Jack also has experience as an operations and technology leader for Providian Financial, Signet Bank, and General Electric and was a consultant with Mitchell Madison Group. He holds a BS in Finance from Indiana University and an MBA from the University of North Carolina.
Mitchell A. Shapiro has more than 20 years in the financial services and technology industries, and was founder and CEO of two prior companies, StreetScience, Inc., an international technology and management consultancy to premier financial services organizations, and MetaExchange, a web-based consumer marketplace. Mr. Shapiro was previously one of the early employees of what is now known as Tibco Software, delivering market-changing technology to trading floors around the world. Previous experience includes work in Artificial Intelligence for Texas Instruments, Teknowledge, and IBM. Mr. Shapiro received his BS degree from the California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo.
